Exocet Part 15: PRI Auto Show XP-4 Close Ups

Posted: December 16, 2014 in Racing

Was able to get over the DIYAutotune booth and check out the XP-4 chassis and get my first in person look at a built car. This is really helpful to me as I need to see examples on the road.

I’m glad to say that the transmission tunnel on newer kits will provide more seating width so you can mount the seats more inboard giving better safety to occupants. But here’s a bunch of detailed pics of sections of the car (battery, fender mounts, hood / boot, etc.).

Hey, when you write “transmission tunnel on newer kits will provide more seating width”, do you mean newer than yours, or a new change that exomotive is planning/introducing?

    • Yes newer than mine – My chassis is 48 and I had the tunnel modified to give more room to move the seat inboard (it’s in an older post of the before / after). This is a new change that Exomotive is introducing very soon (contact Exomotive for more details). Modifying existing tunnels is not that difficult as this is a common modification to racing Miatas.
