Herb Garden Under Deck & New Evergreens

Posted: October 26, 2011 in Being Green

I transplanted over the parsley (Italian and normal); basil and mint to a new location from the garden.  Used chicken wire to keep out pests and control spread into the grass.  I need to add chives, cilantro, rosemary and others.  I have a water barrel right above them so will add a soaker hose for next season.  Need to start pulling herbs to dry for winter storage.

Planted several evergreens on northern side of property hoping it will break down the wind and provide a nice privacy fence from the neighbors.  They grow about 8′ tall and 2′ wide so hoping they will make a nice break in the yards.  Plus they were 50% off at the local hardware store.
